DEXTER — The Texico Wolverines couldn’t overcome seven errors Saturday and lost to Elida 8-4 in the seventh-place game of the season opening Hal Bogle Invitational, hosted by Dexter.
Texico built a 3-1 lead after two innings, but the Tigers rallied with three in the third and four in the fourth to take control and won despite collecting only four hits.
Jesse Walthers had three of Texico’s seven hits and drove in a pair of runs. Brett Anderson added a pair of singles and drove in the other two runs.
The Wolverines return to action with a 4 p.m. doubleheader in Clovis on Tuesday against the Clovis junior varsity.
