Education Digest: Late start cancelled due to testing

There will be no late start Wednesday at Clovis High School as a result of a state-mandated testing schedule.

All CHS juniors will take morning tests the week of Feb. 26.

Questions regarding the tests and schedule should be directed to the CHS Guidance Office at 769-4350.

Literacy council hosts competition
The Curry County Literacy Council is hosting a competition March 10 at the Java Loft.

The Word Worm 2007 competition begins at 1 p.m.

Contestants will engage in spelling, trivia and other competitions to raise awareness for and support the literacy program.

Saturday: El Desayuno Kiwanis Vocal and Instrumental Solo Festival, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Clovis High School.

Monday:
• Clovis Music In Our Schools Week Grand Concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Marshall Junior High School Auditorium.
• New Mexico Standards Based Assessments begin in Clovis Schools. Students in grades three through nine and 10 and 11 will be tested in math, reading, science and social studies through March 23.

Tuesday: Marshall Choirs Spring Concert will be held at 6 p.m. in the Marshall Auditorium.
