A 23-year-old Clovis man is in jail after threatening to shoot his girlfriend Monday if she turned him in for using drugs, according to police reports.

Norman Williams was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Monday after police found him driving near the home he shared with his girlfriend in the 2000 block of Chaparral Avenue with a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle, a police report said.

The woman said she had come home and found a syringe in their bathroom.

She confronted him and told him she wouldn’t tolerate drug use in their home and began packing to leave. She told police he began oiling his gun and told her he would shoot her if she told authorities he had been using drugs, the report said.

Williams is in the Curry County Adult Detention Center on $11,000 bond, jail officials said.
