Coach’s comment: “We’ve got some things we need to get better at, but right now the girls are playing hard. We just have to keep working hard in practice and improving.”

Last season: Lost to Melrose in Class 1A regional semifinals.

Coach’s comment: “We’re getting better every game. We still have a lot of things we need to work on, but I do think we have a good chance of coming out of district.”

Coach’s comment: “We’ve had some ups and downs. We’ve beaten some good teams and lost a couple that I didn’t think we should have lost. We need to get more consistent if we’re going to make a run for a district title.”

Last season: Lost a playoff to Bovina for the second and final playoff berth from what was then District 4-1A.

Coach’s comment: “We’re struggling trying to make the adjustments we want to. We’re continually trying to improve our defensive intensity. I know our district is probably one of the toughest in (Class) 1A.”

BOVINA FILLIES
District 5-1A

Last season: Lost in bi-district round of playoffs to New Deal.

Coach’s comment: “The potential is there to have some success (in the district). It’s all going to come down to maybe who has the best road record.”

MULESHOE LADY MULES
District 2-2A

2006-07 record: 11-6 (3-0 district).
Last season: Lost to Abilene Wylie in second round of Class 3A playoffs.

Coach’s comment: “Dropping down (to Class 2A from 3A) didn’t help us because this district has so many good teams. Just getting out of district is going to be an accomplishment.”
