School board hopefuls file for candidacy

Three acting Clovis Schools Board of Education members are running unopposed for re-election.

Lora Harlan in District 3, Mark Lansford in District 4 and Terry Martin in District 5 filed for candidacy unopposed Tuesday.

Seventeen other candidates for Curry County school board positions filed Tuesday at the Curry County Courthouse, courthouse records show. Tuesday was the only day for candidates for the Feb. 6 election.

Absentee voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 12 through Feb. 2.

Those who filed for candidacy Tuesday could face additional competition. Write-in candidates may file before 5 p.m. Jan. 2 at the Curry County Courthouse.
