Dairyfest coming to Clovis

United Dairy Women are presenting Dairyfest, a celebration of dairy products and the farmers who provide them. The family-oriented event, being held at the Curry County Fairgrounds on Saturday, will feature games, exhibits and contests.

Admission to the festival is $1, and the free food will include such dairy-rich foods as grilled cheese sandwiches, cheeseburgers and ice cream. Allie Brooks and the Bellamy Brothers will provide entertainment. The proceeds from the event will go to the Food Bank, organizers said.

In conjunction with Dairy Month, Dairy MAX program director Teresa Wagner is traveling throughout the area to promote the importance of dairy products. Dairy MAX is a regional nonprofit organization funded by dairy farmers that promotes generic milk products.

More than 100 businesses and organizations are participating in Dairyfest, organizers said.
