Carolyn Pruit, 60, of Portales, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 16, 1945, in Portales to Mattie and Carroll Boland, she grew up in Lovington where she attended school. She attended Clovis Community College and Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. She had worked for Levi Strauss and also was assistant manager for Town & Country Food Stores.
Family members said she enjoyed playing bingo and was a competitive dancer, having won several trophies over the years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed being involved in the lives of her family members, they said.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gayle Jones, who died in 2003.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Guthrie (and wife, Tina) of New Braunfels, Texas, and Ronnie Guthrie (Renee) and Jeff Guthrie (Vickie), all of Clovis; two daughters, Leslie Roberts (Terry) of Portales and Donna Webb of Mount Pleasant, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Tye Griffin, Cody and Alexis Ryan, and Ashley, Tamara, Ronnie Lee, Deanne, Rhett, Johnny Lee, Kelsey and Kelly Guthrie; a great-grandson, Jaden Griffin; a stepmother, Edna Boland of Union Grove, Texas; two brothers, Harold Boland (Josie) of Longview, Texas, and Carroll Boland (Pam) of East Mountain, Texas; a sister, Brenda Selman of Union Grove, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat Mathis will officiate services.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. (CDT) Thursday at Red Mudd Cemetery in Spur, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Billy, Ronnie and Jeff Guthrie, Robby Jones, Tye Griffin and Ronnie Lee Guthrie.
Honorary pallbearers will be all family members and friends.
