Raymond Gonzales, 70, of Denver and formerly of Melrose, died Friday, May 26, 2006, in St. Joseph Hospital in Denver.
Born Oct. 19, 1935, in LaGarita, he graduated from Melrose High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the state and county in Denver.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gonzales, two daughters, Paula Crawford (and husband, Bryan) and Pamela Gonzales, one son, Michael Ray Gonzales, four grandsons and two granddaughters, all of Denver; and five sisters, Helen Burns, Alice Roberts, Martha Hughes (Donald), Lucy Rubio (Tony), and Lola Cruz-Solano (Albert).
He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Gonzales, and mother, Clara B. Gonzales, of Melrose.
Services were held June 2 at Trevino Mortuary Memorial Chapel. Full veteran honors were observed, with Air Force and Veteran Honor Guards and dove release at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
