6/2 Police blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 8:30 May 19, an officer on patrol discovered a car parked in the middle of the southbound lane on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The driver of the car had gray paint covering the bottom of his face from his nose down and paint covering the inside of his car. The officer noted the man was incoherent and thought he had parked on the side of the road. There were two cans of spray paint on the seat beside him. He was arrested for inhalant abuse.

At 2 a.m. May 21, an officer responded to the 1900 block of Debra in reference to a battery. They observed a quarter-sized lump over the eye of a woman who was crying, who thought her boyfriend had struck her with a beer bottle during an argument. A neighbor said she had heard the woman screaming and had found the boyfriend kicking her in the ribs. She said and her husband had to drag him off her. Officers were unable to find the boyfriend to question him.

Around 3 p.m. May 24 an officer was called to the 1200 block of Dartmouth regarding threats being made. The officer heard a male voice yelling threats and obscenities at the home. The man told the officer the people in the house had robbed him. The residents told police they had no idea what he was talking about.

The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on the suspect. The man was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

About 10:30 p.m. May 25, an officer responded to a disturbing the peace call at a motel in the 2600 block of Mabry Drive. The officer discovered an 18-year-old female had rented a room and there were five juveniles in the room. They had all been drinking. None of them would identify who gave them alcohol. The female who entered the room was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and the juveniles were issued citations for minors in possession of alcohol.
