Edna Irene Smith Hughes, 79, of Texico, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare, Clovis.
She was born April 26, 1926, in Little Rock, Ark., to George and Ruth Smith.
She was a member of High Plains Baptist Church in Clovis.
Family members said she enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1982; her mother in 1942; her twin sister, Velma Irene Smith, in 1926; her only brother, James Ellis Smith, in 2004; a younger sister, Patricia Frankie Roberts, in 2000; her great-granddaughter, Nichole Talley, in 1995; and her nephew, Reford Wayne Davison in 1978.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Hughes of Euless, Texas, and David Hughes of Clovis; three daughters, Judy Herrington and Beth Anders, both of Clovis, and Janice Talley of Plainview, Texas; four sisters, Betty Roberts (and husband, Aubrey) of Midwest City, Okla., Doris Dobbs (Roy) of Moore, Okla., Winona Weaver of Vinita, Okla., and Mary Thompson of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren
The Rev. Jason Schwope will officiate with Charles Miller assisting. Burial at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, Texas
Her grandsons, Keith and Jared Herrington, Mike Anders, Kenneth and Justin Talley and Shawn Copley, will serve as pallbearers.
