Mary Elizabeth Bell, 84, of Clovis, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at her home.
Born Jan. 14, 1922, to Clayton and Martha Ryan Reed in Clovis, she married Maurice “Fud” E. Bell on July 17, 1937, in Farwell. She was the owner and manager of the Mirador Apartments on 21st Street. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she and her husband had been greeters. She enjoyed crocheting and loved sharing her afghans with family and special people, family members said. They said she loved her children, family, home, church and the tenants of Mirador Apartments.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her two brothers, Torrence and Bob Reed; one sister, Aileen Murray, and a great-grandchild, Alexis Camille Reithel.
She is survived by her two sons, Don Bell (and wife, Harriet) and Gary Bell of Clovis; a daughter, Sandy Bell Carter (Marven) of Clovis; a sister, Audrey Elliott of Marshall, Va.; and John Mileg, her special helper at the Mirador Apartments.
Pastor Vaughan Gossman will officiate services.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Murray, Eddie Toliver, Scott Sherwood, Brian Reithel, Steve Hughes and Randall Harris.
