Phillip Carroll “Phil” West, 66, of Clovis died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
Born July 14, 1939, in Edenton, N.C., to William Reeves and Edith Ida Green West, he married Karen Grim on Aug. 27, 2005, in Clovis.
A Vietnam veteran, he retired as a technical sergeant after serving 20 years in the Air Force. He worked as a service manager for PNM Gas Co. for 20 years.
He was a member of VFW Post 3280 and First Christian Church.
Family members said he enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon West, and a sister, Francis Jordan.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Patricia Collins of Cannon Air Force Base, Lori Wintersteen of Louisville, Ky., and Stephanie Smedley of Portales; a son, Brian West of Clovis; two stepdaughters, Tamra Soares of Florida and Debra Emerick of New Braunsfel, Texas; a stepson, John Grim of Clovis; two brothers, William West Jr. of Dothan, Ala., and Gordon West of North Carolina; a sister, Estell Dempsey of Austin, Texas; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Jon Forrest will officiate services.
Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be provided by the Cannon honor guard.
