Alex Robinson Jr., 75, of Rickman, Tenn., died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, in Livingston Regional Hospital of cancer.
He was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Jamestown, Tenn. He joined the Air Force in 1951. He was stationed in Clovis where he met and later married Pearl Mitchell on June 22, 1954, at House.
He also culminated 20 years of service at Tennessee Technological University in 1996 as the interim director of university Police. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, where he taught the adult Sunday School class.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Darrell Robinson (and wife, Leigh Ann) of Las Lunas, Neil Robinson (Tammy) of Springfield, Va., and Gordon Robinson (Maria) of College Station, Texas; a daughter, Tawnya Moss (Dale) of Cookeville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Daniel, Jared, Jordan and Jace Robinson, DeWayne Howard, Michelle Poteet and Sally Moss; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Robinson, and Jaidon Poteet; a sister, Ruth Goney; a brother, Bob Robinson; and a mother-in-law, Pauline Mitchell (Herman) of Clovis.
Family members said he loved to travel, fish, raise goats and was an avid crossword puzzle fan.
Burial will be at the Dodson Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Rickman.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (EDT) today at Rickman First Baptist Church.

A memorial service is pending at a later date in House.
