HOBBS — The Hobbs Lady Eagles came from behind for wins in both ends of a doubleheader Tuesday against the Lady Wildcats.
In the first game, Clovis held a one-run lead until the bottom of the seventh, when the Lady Eagles scored two runs for the 2-1 win.
In the second game, Clovis (11-11, 0-4 District 4-5A) scored three runs in the first inning, but Hobbs exploded for six runs in the fourth to take a 7-3 win.
“We should have came away with both of them,” Clovis coach Brandi Thomas said. “The first game, we played solid all the way around, the way we were looking to play all year long. And there at the end we just came unraveled. Just a bunch of bad errors and that’s the problem we had.
“The second game we played our game and we played our game strong. Unfortunately, it didn’t come out right.”
Clovis’ Teshia Lujan was 2-for-7 on the day with 2 RBI. For Hobbs (12-6, 2-0), Samantha Acevedo as 2-for-7 with 3 RBI.
