A Clovis man facing child molestation charges is being held in a Pinellas County, Fla., jail after being arrested during a traffic stop.
Roy Johnston, 54, was arrested Tuesday in Largo, Fla., which is a suburb of Tampa, according to Sgt. Jim Bordner of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Clovis police alleged on June 2, Johnston, committed six counts of criminal sexual penetration to a minor, two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, court records show.
Curry County Magistrate Judge Richard Hollis issued a warrant for Johnston’s arrest on Aug. 18.
Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matt Chandler said he will seek extradition of Johnston.
