Peggy D. Shaw, 67, of Clovis, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, in Slaton, Texas.
She was born April 15, 1938, to Preston and Opal Butler Worsham in Plainview, Texas. She married Tommy E. Shaw in 1958 in Austin, Texas.
Family said she was a devoted wife and mother. She followed her husband’s military career moving to Clovis in 1974 and later retiring in Clovis in 2001. She was the director of Cannon Air Force Base child-care center for several years. Later she was an employee of Wal-Mart where she was a cashier for 19 years.
Family members said she lived her life unselfishly and loved children and was a devoted mother and nanny until her death.
Survivors include a son, Gary Shaw (and wife, Christine) of Wolfforth, Texas; a daughter, Karen Branscum (Glenn) of Slaton, Texas; a niece, Dana McLendon (Earl) of Dallas; a great-niece, Lillian McLendon of Dallas; a nephew, Martin Sutphen (Angie) of Bowie, Texas; four grandchildren, Kristal and Lexie Ann Branscum and Jessica and Amanda Shaw.
Jim Peabody is officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Muffley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Earl McLendon, Steve Verdile, Lexie Branscum, Burl Branscum, David Ramirez and David Ramirez Jr.
Honorary pallbearer are Elye Shaw, Jim Shaw and Bill Carrico.
