Mac W. “Bigun” Hancock Jr., 80, of Farwell died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006.
He was born March 8, 1925, in Dawson County, Texas, to Mallie Best and Mac W. Hancock Sr. He married Louise Taylor on Sept. 3, 1947, in Texico.
He served in the Army during World War II. In his younger years he was a truck driver and a police officer in Lamesa, Texas. He farmed in Parmer County for the last 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Hazel Hancock and J.A. “Shorty” Hancock; and four sisters: Loretta Linguist, Mona Towns, Nova Rasberry and Frances Scoggin.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Mac W. Hancock III (and wife, Pam) and Ray Hancock (Amy), all of Houston; a daughter, Debbie Dennis (Ray) of Lubbock; two sisters, Orene Holladay of Lamesa, Texas, and Nancy Pruitt of Kingsland, Texas; a brother: W.L. Hancock of Roswell; eight grandchildren, Breck and James Weishaupt of Manhattan, N.Y., Kendall Hancock of Providence, R.I., Chris and Alyssa Dennis of Lubbock, Cody, Rachel and Brandon Hancock all of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.
