Delores Ann Meeks, 71, of Texico, died Friday Jan. 20, 2006, at her home in Texico.
She was born Oct. 7, 1934 in Clovis to Noble and Mae Ingle Goldsmith.
She married Leon C. Meeks on Feb. 14, 1953, in Las Cruces. She was a lifetime resident of the Texico and Farwell areas. She was a graduate of Farwell High School, a homemaker and member of the Farwell Church of Christ, the Telephone Pioneers of America and Roadrunner Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Goldsmith.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Wade Meeks (and wife, Rica) and Tim Meeks (Tori), all of Farwell, Steve Meeks (Cindy) and Matt Meeks (Michelle), all of Texico and Mark Meeks (Mary Beth) of Spring, Texas; two brothers, Doyle Goldsmith (Jerry) of Big Cabin, Okla., Don Goldsmith of Dimmitt, Texas; four sisters, Iris Smith (J.T.) of Killeen, Texas, Vicki Hackney (Larry) of Cleburne, Texas, JoDell Capps (Gary) of Panhandle, Texas, and Gayla Parker (Duane) of Ben Wheeler, Texas; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Justin, Casey, Landon, Jimmy and Scott Meeks and John Herrington.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Reed, Keith, Zayne, Brian, Lane, Seth and Jason Meeks.
Visitation will be at Muffley Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Closed casket services will be held.
Phillip Steyn will officiate services.
Burial will follow at the Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home.
