Erlinda Chavez, 84, of Clovis, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 21, 1921, to Margarito and Castella Ribera Gallegos in Vaughn. She married Jose Inez Chavez Sept. 7, 1937, in Clovis.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community.
She is preceded in death by her husband; four sisters, Pelajia Martinez, Delia Duran, Candida Vasquez and Josefa Griego; and four brothers, Reynaldo, Vicente, Rosario and Adan Gallegos.
She is survived by five sons, Ernesto Chavez (and wife, Eva) of Santa Rosa, Abelino Chavez (Mary), Johnny Chavez (Rosalia), Victor Chavez (Patsy) and Freddie Lee Chavez, all of Clovis; four daughters, Antonia Chavez of the home; Rose Romero (Tony) of Clovis, Jane Sanchez (Jimmy) of Clovis and Julia Baca (Ernest) of Bosque Farms, 48 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, 39 great great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Danny Garcia, Robert, Ricky, Roland, Andres and Mario Chavez, Jimmy Sanchez and Chuck Baca.
Honorary pallbearer will be Frankie Ulibarri.
A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate services.
Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories.
