Mae Purselley, 101, of Farwell died Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Farwell Convalescent Center.
She was born April 8, 1904, in Hatfield, Ark., to Wilson and Nora Davis.
She married C.B. Purselley on March 12, 1922, in Texico. She moved to New Mexico in 1909 with her parents, three sisters, and two brothers. They homesteaded 15 miles north of Texico, near Pleasant Hill, and she lived in that vicinity the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 1, 1969; an infant daughter; a son, LaMoine Purselley; a grandson, Jay Sosebee; and a great-granddaughter Brandy LaValla.
She is survived by two daughters, Billie Jean Sosebee of Carrollton, Texas, and Robbie Lea Payne (Jimmie) of Clovis; a son Jimmie Dale Purselley (Vivian) of Goffstown, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Bud Shipley, Rocky Williams, Morris Stagner, Paul Guthals, Mike Payne, David Caldwell and Jim Payne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Al Neal and her friends and neighbors.
Ran Loy will officiate.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
