W.S. “Dub” Ingram, 82, of Friona, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Prairie Acres Nursing Home.
He was born March 7, 1923, to John and Mary Lee (Blassengame) Ingram in Wellington, Texas. He married Dorothy Faye Jones on Oct. 2, 1940, in Wellington.
Mr. Ingram moved to Friona in 1956 from Enochs, Texas. He farmed and raised cattle until his health failed. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.He was sent to the European Theater where he joined Patton’s 87th Infantry Golden Acorn Division and was stationed on the Czechoslovakian border when the war came to an end.
He was an active member of the Friona United Methodist Church in which he and his wife Dorothy raised their family. He was a loving husband and proud father, family members said.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Sharon Faye Ingram who died at birth April 7, 1942; by his parents; two brothers, Cleve Ingram and Clyde Ingram, and a son-in-law Robbie Osborn.
Survivors include his wife, two sons: Cris Ingram (and wife Sylvia) of Friona and John Ingram (Beverly) of Friona; three daughters: Joy Osborn of Friona; Cindy Cassels (Dwayne) of Hereford, Texas; and Teresa McCoy (Bill) of Temple, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate services. Burial will be in the Friona Cemetery.
