William Wallace “Wally” Ewing, 87, of Duncan, Okla., and formerly of Clovis, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, in Duncan, Okla.
He was born Nov. 7, 1918, on a farm near Cameron, to Lewis Gardner and Della Tuck Ewing. He was raised in Cameron, Wheatland and Grady. He attended college in Tempe, Ariz. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years as an airplane mechanic.
He married Ann Tipton in Clovis. He worked as a mechanic before opening his own shop on North Prince Street. Following the death of his first wife, he married Myrtle Stanley in 1966.
Family members said he enjoyed playing dominoes, church, teaching adult Sunday achool and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; his wives; sister, Anna Juel; and daughters, Donna Ewing and Linda Ewing.
Survivors include his sons, Terry and Burl; sister, Davie Lee Kirk of Ignacio, Colo.; nieces and nephews, Coleman Hutchinson of New Mexico, Sandra Hutchinson of Clovis, Nancy Beavers of Farwell, Michael Kirk of Durango, Colo. and Nola Kirk Gonzales of Colorado; step-children, Peggy Loflin of Duncan, Okla., Terri Stanley Dorman of Houston, Lonnie Stanley of San Antonio, Texas, Debra Baum of Grammercy, La., James Clark of Tarpley, Texas, Juanez Jones of Beaumont, Texas and Edna Wigham of Groves, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Grantham Tham Funeral Home in Duncan, Okla.
