Robert Mack Merriman, 91, of Clovis, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in Holly Lake Nursing Center in Weatherford, Texas.
He was born March 12, 1914, in Gordon, Texas, to John and LaMira Merriman. He married Barbara Allen Ratliff in 1939 in Strawn, Texas. He worked as a switchman for the Sante Fe railroad and retired as a conductor. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 21 and held many offices with its organization.
Family members said he loved to cook and make candy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a grandson, Hampton Rea Merriman.
Survivors include a son, Terry H. Merriman (and wife, Barbara) of Goodyear, Ariz.; three granddaughters, Deborah Brown, Dena Jo Cannata (Bryan) and Rebecca Wilson (Gary); two sisters, Mary Ringo and Oma Sperling, both of Gordon, Texas; six grandchildren, Brandy Brown, Coleton and Zachary Jones, Mykhal Cannata and Matthew and Neal Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
