Mrs. Donabelle “Tippy” Smith, 81, of Portales, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Heartland Continuing Care Center in Portales.
She was born July 25, 1924, in Big Run, Pa., to Catherine and Ralph Fullerton. She married Thomas Smith on March 14, 1944. She was a Sunday school teacher and volunteered with Meals-On-Wheels. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Portales. Family members said she enjoyed gardening and helping others.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Smith of Portales; son,Thomas Smith, Jr. (and his wife Kathy) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; daughters, Catherine Raisbeck (William) of Portales and Claudia Travis (Jack) of Dunedin, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Willis Fullerton of Washington, Pa.; and sister, Betty Ewig of Washington, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Foundation, P.O. Box 5312, Akron, Ohio 44334.
