Esmeralda “Mana” Baltazar, 52, of Fort Sumner, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born Sept. 14, 1953, to David Y. and Viviana Rodriguez Perez in Hereford, Texas. She married Miguel Baltazar in September of 1973 in Clovis. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner.
Family members said she loved knitting, arts and crafts, rocks and painting rocks, and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Samuel Perez; and daughter, Avelina Baltazar.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Gina Baltazar Lofton (and husband John) of Melrose and Monica Baltazar of Fort Sumner; son, Miguel “Micky” Baltzar, Jr. of Fort Sumner; her mother of Clovis; sisters, Yolanda Lopez of Portales, Irma Garcia of Clovis, Maricela Lopez of Melrose, Emma Garza of Clovis and Margie Garcia of Clovis; brothers, Ernest “Boy” Perez of Willard and David Perez, Jr. of Clovis; grandchildren, Izzak Baltazar of Melrose, Luis Baltazar of Melrose, Samuel Baltazar of Melrose and Juan Baltazar of Melrose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Father Sotero Sena is officiating.
Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Jason Garza, Mario Garcia, Robert Garcia, Efrain Lujan, Estavan Baltazar, Lorenzo Lopez, Richard Garcia, Adrian Collaso and Andrew Garcia.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
