SAN ANGELO, Texas — Left fielder Christina Helland hit a three-run double to cap a four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth on Saturday, lifting the Eastern New Mexico University softball team past Oklahoma Panhandle State 5-3 in the semifinals of the season-opening Angelo State Classic.

The Zias (2-1) play Washburn in one of two 10 a.m. (MST) semifinals today. The other pits the host Rambelles against University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma, with third-place and championship games to follow.

ENMU split its two pool matches, losing to Science & Arts 10-6 and beating first-year program West Texas A&M 4-1. Elizabeth Whipkey hit a two-run first-inning single in the latter contest to back the four-hit pitching of Rosemary Moreno.
