No charges have been filed in connection with Sunday morning’s slaying of 19-year-old Wilfred Salas Jr., who was found shot in the head in his vehicle, according to Clovis police.
Police said they have identified a “person of interest” in the case, but no arrests have been made.
Salas was the only occupant police found in the four-door Buick, according to the incident report. The engine was running and the accelerator pedal was still fully depressed after it hit a vehicle parked in the lot of the Beaulieu Brothers Pawn City shop on Seventh Street, according to a police report.
A bullet hole was noted on the right side of the vehicle’s rear window, and the Buick also had damage to its front suspension and a flat tire, records show.
Salas was pronounced dead at a Lubbock hospital Sunday, officials said.
