Police lieutenant returns to duty
A Clovis police lieutenant involved in a pedestrian fatality Monday night returned to work Wednesday after passing a mandatory drug test.
Lt. Roger Grah was taken off duty following Monday’s accident pending the results of the drug test, according to Clovis City Manager Joe Thomas. It is city policy for all employees to undergo drug testing when they are involved in an accident where injury occurs, Thomas said.
A police car Grah was driving while on patrol struck and killed Delores Jacks, 71, as she crossed Mitchell Street, according to a release from the New Mexico State Police Department.
The case is still under investigation by state police.
