Four teachers achieve certification
Four Clovis teachers made National Board Certification this year, each on the first attempt, according to Jimmy Minichello, a media relations manager for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
The National Board certified teachers are listed below:
• Annetta Hadley, family and consumer science at the Clovis High School
• Carol Singletary, journalism at the Clovis High School
• Terry Pipkin, sixth-grade at Highland
• Melissa Romero, kindergarten at Bella Vista
Minichello said only 36 percent of first-time candidates achieved certification.
“It is a very rigorous process. But teachers tell us that it is the best professional development experience they’ve ever had,” Minichello said.
