Suzanne Sara Shields-Harmon, 38, of Clovis, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
She was born May 18, 1967, in Albuquerque to Jo and Dale Shields. She graduated from Portales High School in 1985. She attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales for two years, before joining the United States Air Force in 1987. She served in the military for nearly 10 years as a dental hygienist. She married Raymond Harmon on May 15, 1993, in Glendale, Ariz. Following her military service, family members said she was able to become a full-time wife and mother.
Family members said her children were her main interest in life. She supported them in all their activities.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Harmon of Clovis; son, Stephen Wayne Shields; daughters, Sara Marie Shields and Clemencia Christina Shields-Harmon, both of Clovis; parents, Jo and Dale of Portales; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Shields of Portales; brother, Alton Shields (and wife Betsy) of Roswell; sister, Mickie Patterson (Malcolm) of Auburn, Wash.; niece, Tara Shields of Roswell; four nephews, Terrence Shields of Roswell, Josh Allbright of Houston, J.D. Allbright of Omaha, Neb., and Jesse Blue of Auburn, Wash.
Alton Shields and Mickie Patterson will officiate.
Burial will take place at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Richard Shields, Alton Shields, J.D. Allbright, Josh Allbright, Malcolm Patterson, Terrance Shields and Jesse Blue.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
