Fern B. Miller, 86, of Roswell died Saturday, Aug. 13 2005, at her residence in Roswell.
She was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Thomas, Okla., to William Ray Beck and Lola McBurney Beck. She graduated from Clovis High School. She was a longtime member of the Central Christian Church in Roswell and Clovis. She was a homemaker. Family members said she was a master quilter and a founding member of the Pecos Valley Quilters Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Kathryn Elaine Bush of Roswell; a son, Kenneth Ray Miller (and wife, Deidre) of Las Cruces; a grandson, Robert Ray Bush; two granddaughters, Leona and Rosileanne Miller; a sister, Mrs. Maxwell E. Johnson of Artesia; four nieces, Whitney Johnson, Judy Johnson-Kane, Nora Lee Johnson, Nancy Johnson; and a nephew, Noel Johnson.

Florence Preston Sherman, 96, of Clovis died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis. Services will be announced. Arrangements by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
