Mary “LaLa” Romero, 74, of Clovis, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at her home.
She was born May 11, 1931, in Clovis to Frank and Dolores Zamora Sanchez. She married Joe “Maro” Romero on Aug. 22, 1949, in Clovis. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Family members said she loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her step-mother, Tere Sanchez; two sons, Gabriel Romero and Stephen Romero; an infant daughter; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathon Fraustos and Dianna Romero.
Survivors include six sons, Nino Romero of Clovis, Tommy Romero (and wife, Sandra) of Clovis, Damian Romero (Lisa) of Clovis, Sammy Romero of Clovis, David Romero (Elizabeth) Friona and Dathan Romero of Clovis; two daughters, Terresa “Sheila” Ancira (David) of Farwell and Sally Ramirez (Juan) of Clovis; a sister, Mary Lavato of Fritch, Texas; three brothers, Arcenio Sanchez, Christobal Sanchez and Frank Sanchez Jr., all of Clovis; 31 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be held from at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate services.
Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers are Shane, D.J., Isaac, Joe, Jason and Tommy Romero Jr., Fabian Carrera and Timmy Fraustos.
Honorary pallbearers are Adrian and Matthew Ancira, Brent Hirte, Alfred Rose, Vanty Ruttivary and Joe Garcia.
