Mrs. Blanche Carpenter, 76, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at her home.
She was born March 10, 1929, in Clovis to Jake and Ethel Eller.
She was active in theater productions and was the first FHA president. She served as secretary for three Clovis Municipal Schools superintendents. After retirement, family members said she continued to devote her herself to her family, friends and Kingswood United Methodist Church. She loved music, painting, sewing and gardening, they said.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Cleo Carpenter; a brother, Dr. Thomas Orville Eller (and wife, Shirley) of Plano, Texas; a son, Mark Carpenter (Diane) of Clovis; two daughters, Pam Carpenter of Albuquerque and Carol Koch (Kip) of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Julie Howell (John), Kevin Henson, Kyle Henson, Brian Carpenter (Mandy), Kris Koch, Ian Koch and Zach Koch; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Howell.
Herbert Bergstrom will officiate services with Curtis Maberry assisting.
Burial will take place at Missions Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers are Kevin Henson, Kyle Henson, Brian Carpenter, John Howell, Tom Wade, Jim Jacobs, Norvill Howell, Charlie Fields and Earl Willmon.
Honorary pallbearers are Dick Sullinger, Rick Purvis, Max Frazier, Kris Koch, Ian Koch and Zach Koch.
Memorial contributions may be made to Plains Regional Medical Center Hospice.
