Kleinive Mitchell Campbell, 87, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was born to J.H. and Nancy (Hunt) Mitchell on April 23, 1918, in Delhi, Okla.
She was raised in Oklahoma. Her father was a Baptist minister. She attended school at Thomas, Okla., graduating in 1934.
She married Hooper Campbell on July 25, 1938, in Guthrie, Okla. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee and Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1945. She worked as a teacher and a principal. She retired in 1972 as a social worker supervisor in Visalia, Calif.
Family members said she enjoyed reading, writing, meeting people and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.H. and Nancy Campbell.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Ann Stewart (and, husband Wes) of Poulsbo, Wash., and Pauline Baker (George) of Porterville, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Mark, Joel, Paul and Joy Baker, Hope Valines, Gene Michael and Jason Stover; five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ben and Carmen Baker and Tyler and Hannah Valines; two sisters, Willene Lechtenberg (Bill) of Albuquerque and LaVerne Robbins of Portales.
Memorials may be made to Lakey Manor Center (Baptist Village Retirement Center) in Oklahoma City, Okla.
