Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Portales.
Beverly Pinkert, 67, of Portales, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.
She was born March 24, 1938 in Pendleton, Ore., to Annabelle and Harvey Exum.
Pinkert grew up in Oregon, and graduated from Athena High School. She married Ed Pinkert on June 2, 1956. They moved to Farmington not long after they were married. In 1958 they came to Portales to make their home. She worked at Hometown Food, Roosevelt County Water Co-op, and helped her husband with his plumbing business.
She was preceded in death by her mother; three brothers, Louis, Bill and Ron Exum; a sister, Carol Johnson, and her husband.
She is survived by a son, Mark Pinkert (and wife, Tina) of Buda, Texas; a daughter, Shelli Mitchell (Randy) of Portales; six grandchildren, Cody and Jenea Pinkert, B.J., Justin, Jamey and Ryan Mitchell; three great-grandchildren, Brent, Casyn and Vincent Mitchell; her father, Harvey Exum of Milton Freewater, Ore.; a brother, Glenn Exum of Boring, Ore.; four sisters, Marylin Peterson of Milton Freewater, Ore., Lois Giger of Athena, Ore., and Sharon Askegreen and Jeanie Schmid, both of Florence, Ore.
Rev. Walter Huber will officiate the services.
Burial will follow at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Cody and Jenea Pinkert and B.J., Justin, Jamey and Ryan Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers are Eric Padilla, Emilio Padilla and Alfonzo Villanueva along with all of her many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday and Friday at Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
