CARLSBAD — Carlsbad put an end to Clovis High’s school-record 10-match winning streak, edging the Lady Wildcats 25-23, 25-7, 18-25, 14-25, 15-13 Thursday in the District 4-5A and regular-season volleyball finale for both teams.

Despite the loss, Clovis (14-6, 3-1 district) has a bye to the finals of the 4-5A tournament. Third-seeded Carlsbad (13-7, 1-3) plays at No. 2 Hobbs on Thursday night, with the winner visiting Rock Staubus Gym two nights later for the 6:30 p.m. title match.

The Lady Cats rallied to force a fifth game after struggling with their passsing in watching Carlsbad dominate the second game.
