Mr. W.G. “Bill” Victor, 87, of Rogers, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at his home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1917, near Dora to Emma and Vain Victor. He quit school in the eighth grade to help support his family. He drove a truck for several years, carrying any kind of freight he could.
He married Sybil Fraze on Feb. 27, 1940. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for many years and later of Dora Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arthur Victor, Jim Victor and an infant brother Jack; and two sisters, Frankie Saint and Iola Rawls.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bobby Victor (and wife, Bobbie) of Dora, Billy Victor (Nan) of Portales and Kerry Victor (Debbie) of Rogers; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Victor and Bennie Victor, both of Portales; and two sisters, Betty Kyte of Portales and Joan Hemingway of Houston, Texas.
The Revs. Walter Huber and Butch Schneider will officiate services. Burial will follow at Long’s Cemetery in south Roosevelt County.
Pallbearers are Rocky Victor, Buster Tucker, Ryan Victor, Jason Victor, Danny Victor, Ruben Natividad, Darrell Victor, Jody Victor and Kevin Victor.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care, High Plains Home Health or the Alzheimer’s Association.
