LUBBOCK — An inconsistent effort by the Lady Cats lead to a four-game loss at Lubbock Monterey.

“We were just kinda off,” Clovis coach Darrel Ray said. “The consistency wasn’t there. We couldn’t get all of the pieces together at one time.”

Monterey beat Clovis 25-27, 26-24, 25-19, 25-0.
Clovis won the first game in dramatic fashion.

“We were down 13-4 at one point in the first game,” Ray said. “We fought back and won it. It was a great comeback.”
Ray said his team played well for stretches in each game, but Monterey played better when the pressure was on.

“They were a little more determined at the critical points in each game,” Ray said. “We didn’t finish when we had chances. We were inconsistent in all areas, we couldn’t get everyone on the same page.”

The loss drops the Lady Cats’ record to 4-4.
