The bride is the daughter of Larry Bright of Clovis, and Edie Norris of Westport, Ind.

She is the granddaughter of Russell and Christa Davis of Beaumont, Texas, and Grady and Mary Lois Bright of Melrose.

The bridegroom is the son of Don and Ruth Howell of Bartlesville, Okla.

He is the grandson of Bill Howell of Troy, Pa.

Matrons of honor were Leslie McIntyre and Christina Allen.

Bridesmaid was Beth Darby.

Best Man was Randy John.

The couple was married on Sept. 14, 1950, in Clovis.

The have five children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is a retired railroader.

She is a homemaker.

Hunter Waters, son of Dr. and Mrs. Mark N. Waters, submitted a poem to a contest that was held for young poets. He is in the tenth grade at Clovis High School. His poem was selected from thousand of entries as one of the top ten in his grade division.

Brian and Wendy Cronk of Wichita Falls, Texas are the parents of a 6-pound, 3-ounce girl born on July 30, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

Karlee Janelle Cronk has one sister, Cambree Joy Cronk, age 4.

Grandparents are Ron and LaDonna Cronk of Cottonwood, Ariz. and Russell and Carolyn Muffley of Clovis.

Great-grandparents are Ralph Hinkle of Cottonwood, Ariz.

Harold Burris of Clovis celebrated his 80th birthday this Labor Day weekend at La Quinta Inn in Clovis.

The celebration was hosted by Harold and Betty Burris.

Harold Burris was born on Sept. 12, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo.

He has four children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
