Mrs. Sarah Jo Egerton, 60, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1944, in Fort Sumner, to Cecil and Gertrude Trinkle.
She married Jack Egerton on April 14, 1967, in Amarillo. They moved to Clovis in 1985 after many years of traveling to different duty stations. Family members said she loved to visit and play games with the veterans in the VA Hospital in Amarillo. She fixed and served cakes for the resident’s monthly birthday party at Laurel Ridge Healthcare. She was a member of VFW Post 3015 and the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary AHO No. 5.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wesley Egerton; a brother, Philip Trinkle; and two nephews, Doug and Wesley Clark.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Suzanne Lonsinger of Apple Valley, Calif.; two sons, Cecil Egerton of Clovis and Jack Egerton Jr. of Pampa, Texas; a sister, Marilyn Clark of Clovis; a brother, Kenneth Trinkle of Newport News, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Sam Kelley will officiate the services with Kenneth Trinkle giving the eulogy.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Jack, Cecil, Lonnie, Brian and Alan Egerton and Kenneth Trinkle.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Cancer Aide and Research Fund.
