Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Officers observed a vehicle with two occupants parked outside of a home Thursday in an area on the south side of 10th street known for drug traffic.
A check revealed the vehicle’s registration had expired. A male passenger told officers he had just purchased the vehicle. After officers received permission to search the vehicle, they found a sawed off shotgun, a crystalline substance in small plastic bags that tested positive for methamphetamine, and a glass pipe with burnt residue.
The vehicle’s owner was arrested and transported to the detention center. The female driver was released.

Officers responded Wednesday to a report of a found weapon in the 400 block of Rencher. The caller explained to police she had been painting an empty apartment when she discovered a shotgun in the bedroom.
The officers entered the gun into evidence.

Police responded early Thursday morning to a call of an 82-year-old woman had died in her home in the 500 block of Starlight.
According to her husband, she had gotten up in the middle of the night complaining of back pain and so he had gotten her some pain medication. At 6:30 a.m., he went to wake her but she did not respond.
There were no signs of fouls play at the scene and officers determined that she died of natural causes.

Officers were dispatched to a nail salon in the 2000 block of Prince Street on Thursday regarding a reported breaking and entering.
Officers were told $100 in bills and an unknown amount of change was missing from the salon.
The suspects entered by breaking a window located on the ground level of the building.
The window was valued at $150.
