Mr. Eugene “Gene” Palady, 80, of Clovis, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1925, in Vermont, to Margaret and Frank Palady Sr.
He married Pauline Martel on Oct. 12, 1949, in Vermont. They moved to New Mexico where they made their home and raised six children. He worked for the railroad for 35 years. After retirement he and his wife traveled some, but mostly stayed at home or visited with children and grandchildren.
Family members said he was well liked in the community and had dozens of friends over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Mark Palady (and wife, Gayla) of Round Rock, Texas, Jerry Palady (Linda) of Ovilla, Texas, and Jim Palady (Punkin) of Brownsboro, Texas; three daughters, Caroline Mills (Kerry) of Big Spring, Texas, Teresa Tucker (Randy) of Amarillo and Paula Howard (Butch) of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Charles Miller will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Jayme, Jeyrn, Brandon, Shane, Brandon and Christopher Palady, Tyler Garrett, Randy Tucker, Butch Howard, Michael Oliva, Kerry Mills, Curtis Howard and Justin Peek.
Honorary pallbearers are Gene Wookcock, Swede Johnson, Harry Anson, Ted Gillham, George Martin, Delbert Kuhn, Marvin Bell, Boyd Trull and Virden Tea.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
