Obereta Sudderth, 90, formerly of Bovina, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Prairie Acres in Friona.
She was born on June 9, 1915, in Grandfield, Okla., to John H. and Ina Perkins West.
She moved to Parmer County in 1918 from Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma Lane in 1933. She married Billie Sudderth on Dec. 19, 1934, in Clovis. She was a member of the Bovina United Methodist Church for more than 60 years and a member of United Methodist Women for 40 years and had received her lifetime membership pin. She was a past president of the Bovina United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Bovina Study club and Bovina Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a great-grandson, Corbin Sudderth.
Survivors include two sons, Glenden Sudderth (and wife, Janie) of Bovina and Ronnie Sudderth of Springtown, Texas; a brother, Loren West (Darlene) of Lubbock; six grandsons; five great-grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
The Rev. Steve Venable and the Rev. Amelia Gonzales will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Bovina Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bovina United Methodist Church or the Bovina EMS.
