Mrs. Ruby Mae Jones, 82, of Clovis, died Monday, June 20, 2005, in Clovis.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1922, in Fort Sumner, to L.C. and Gertrude Barnhart,
She attended business college. Family members said she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren at the park, quilting, sewing, gardening, crocheting, fishing, eating with friends and playing games. She volunteered at the nursing home, meal site and with the lap robe group. She was active in the Alpha Theta Group, Fairfield Extension Homemaker Club, VFW Auxiliary, and Seniors Single Church Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horace R. Jones; a brother, Logan Barnhart; and two sisters, Patricia and Betty Joe Barnhart.
Survivors include a daughter, Beryl Ann McAlister (and husband, Paul); a son, Gregory C. Bivins; a sister, Bobbie Wright (Lester); three grandsons, Johhny McAlister (Cindy), Brian McAlister (Liana), and Eric Bivins; a granddaughter, Amanda Bivins; and six great-grandchildren, Travis, Tyler and Lane McAlister, Ryan and Laci Curry, and Grayson Bivins.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Glen and Sandy Spell, Terry Potter, Pat Miner, Bob Hoy, and Wayne Lomas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Christian Home in Portales.
