Frances Estelle Brown Smith, 97, of Glencoe, Okla., formerly of Clovis, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, in Pawnee, Okla.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1907, in Austin, Texas, to C.L. and Ella Brown.
She married Tom Burnett and later Roy Smith, who preceded her in death. She attended West Texas State Teacher College in Canyon, Texas, and later taught at a rural school in that area. She was a member of the Pilot Club International and United Methodist Church. Family members said she enjoyed playing bridge, dancing and was a great golfer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers; and a sister, Margaret Fort.
Survivors include a son, Jack Burnett of Glencoe, Okla.; a daughter-in-law, Kay Burnett of Glencoe, Okla.; five grandchildren, Nancy Read (and husband, Randy) of Canyon, Texas, Dayne Burnett of Waco, Texas, Rocky Burnett (Kim) of Pine Valley, Colo., Kevin Burnett (Chris) of Glencoe, Okla., and Andrea Shelton (Randy) of Mannford, Okla.; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Morris Brown (Velda) of Greenville, S.C.; and a number of other relatives.
Arrangements were by Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee, Okla.
