Dora Prescilla Lucero, 68, of Hereford, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo.

She was born Nov. 27, 1936, to Luis and Jesusita Garcia Griego in Garita.

She married Jose Virginio Lucero Nov. 28, 1951, in Littlefield. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hereford, loved to play bingo, and to make ceramics and flower arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her husband; three sons Martin Lucero, Odie Lucero and Virgil Lucero; two brothers, and two sisters

She is survived by three sons, Bernie Lucero of Lubbock, Marty Lucero (and wife, Julyn) of Clovis, Kerry Lucero Hernandez (Juanita) of Lansing, Kan.; three daughters, Margie Medrano (Fidenico) of Witchita, Kan, Loretta Chavira (Edmundo Rivera) of Amarillo, Lisa Romero (Damian) of Clovis; two brothers, Joe Griego (Molly) of Clovis, Bernardo Griego (Josephine)of Albuquerque; two sisters, Cresilla Garza of Hereford, Mary (Apolonio) Dennett of Hereford; 28 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

A communion service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Deacon Daniel Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace in Farwell.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Lucero, Bernie Lucero, Virgil Lucero, Josh Lucero, Roy Lucero, Odie Joe Lucero, Freddie Lucero, Joseph Dennett, Dylan Romero, Michael Lucero.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
