Rena N. Barris, 91, of Clovis, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1913, in Chillicothe, Texas, to Stephen and Lourittie Holden Richardson.
Her family homesteaded in Greer. She married Glen Barris on June 25, 1930, in Clovis. She was a nurse for various doctors in Clovis and worked at the Memorial Hospital in Clovis and the hospital in Portales. She was a Baptist.
Family members said she loved animals, family, taking care of others.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Arlis Barris; her parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Chris Hagler (and husband, Bob) of Clovis; four grandchildren, Bobby Hagler (Toni) of Denver, Suzan Hagler (Danette Webb) of Albuquerque, Trace Hagler (Christa) of Tyler, Texas, and Debbie Hagler of Alamogordo; three great-grandchildren, Aidan and Rebecca Hagler, both of Tyler, Texas, and David Hagler of Alamogordo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
Honorary pallbearers are her family, neighbors and friends.
The family will be at 3004 Las Palomas.
