Carl Clayton Goodwin, 83, of Clovis, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1922, in Firebrick, Ky., to Walter and Verda Harden Goodwin.
He married Mary Hollifield on Aug. 21, 1948, in Maysville, Ky. He was a diesel mechanic for the city transit authority in Dayton, Ohio, for 30 years. Family members said he loved to garden, hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and a brother.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Cross (and husband, Dr. Bruce) of Clovis and Carol Lee (Mike) of Marana, Ariz.; a son, Henry Stansell of Clovis; two sisters, Helen Snyder and Verdona Swigart, both of Ohio; a brother, Charles Goodwin of California; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Joel Horne will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Dr. Bruce Cross, Mike Lee, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Andrew Cross and Don Brumfield.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
