A.K. (Ken) Langford, 83, of Monett, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1921, in Clarendon, Texas, to Alfred Bryant and Lucy Mae Tucker Langford.
He married Doris Talley on March 9, 1962, in Clovis. He was a member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ, Monett. Before moving to Monett, Mo., in 1968, he worked for Southwestern Public Service in New Mexico. He worked at the United Missouri Bank in Monett until his retirement in 1986.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maisie Hyatt; a grandchild, Kenny; a brother, Foy Langford; and two sisters, Bernice Dudley and Hazel Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Langford and wife, Ann of Pelham, Ala., and Mike Langford (Janice) of Pierce City, Mo.; two daughters, Carolyn Stroud (Ronnie) of Clovis, and Myra Mitchell (Mike) of Sarcoxie, Mo.; a brother, Delbert Langford of Utopia, Texas; seven sisters, Dorothy Perdue, Bonnie Keever, Jean Love, Bess Reed, Irene Pruitt of Tulia, Texas, and Wilma Dudley of Choctaw, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. (CST) until 6 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, Mo.
Deny Lemaster will officiate the services.
Burrial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Heaven’s Children’s Home in care of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett, Mo.
