Frankie Hudson, 72, of Carlsbad, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1932, in Melrose, to Jasper and Nancy Bloomer Hudson.
He grew up in Carlsbad and enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school. He was honorably discharged and returned to Carlsbad where he worked in construction. He drove a truck from 1960 until his retirement in 1991. Family members said he had a great love for music, played the guitar and the fiddle, and enjoyed being around horses. He was a member of the American Legion and the Teamsters Local 492 in Albuquerque.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Evelyn Fuson.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Hudson; three sons, Jimmie and Jackie Hudson of California and Jessie Hudson of Vernon, Texas; a daughter, Terri Lee Hudson of Austin, Texas; a sister, Janie Cooper of Albuquerque; three nieces, Lynn and Wendy Cooper of Albuquerque and Nancy Fuson of Edgewood; four great-nephews, Charlie, Justin, Skylar and Dustin; and five grandchildren.
Bob Lewis will officiate the services.
Cremation will follow.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home in Carlsbad.
